Supervision Services
As a professional counsellor or psychologist, regular supervision is an ethical responsibility — both to protect your clients and to support your own professional growth. Meeting a supervisor on an ongoing basis is a core ethical guideline for professional counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists.
Supervision is a formal arrangement for practitioners to discuss their work regularly with someone who is experienced in both therapy and supervision. The supervisory relationship is at the heart of effective supervision.
TalkItOver offers supervision as a developmental process. The primary goals of our supervision services are to:
- Protect clients and ensure ethical practice
- Improve the quality and effectiveness of the counsellor’s work
- Support the self-care and wellbeing of the counsellor
This service is exclusively for practising counsellors and psychologists who are currently seeing clients. Our supervisors have several years of experience in both counselling and supervision, and offer sessions face to face or by telephone and online.
How it works
- On booking, you will receive a confirmation email with your supervisor’s contact details and appointment information
- After your first session, all subsequent appointments will be scheduled directly with your supervisor
- For telephone or online sessions, connect with your supervisor at the scheduled time. Each session is one hour. Late arrivals will lose time as supervisors may have other clients immediately after
- The minimum booking for telephone supervision is 3 sessions, payable upfront for ease of transaction
- Payment instructions for subsequent batches will be communicated by your supervisor
- Please ensure you are in a quiet, private environment for the duration of the session
- To reschedule, inform your supervisor at least 24 hours in advance. No-shows, late cancellations and last-minute rescheduling will forfeit the session. No refunds will be issued in these cases
