Life Coaching

Discuss and explore personal or professional goals with a certified life coach over weekly or monthly sessions of one hour each. Sessions are available face to face, by telephone, or online — whichever works best for you.

What does Life Coaching involve?

Life coaching is a creative, thought-provoking and confidential process that inspires you to maximise your personal and professional potential. Your life coach honours you as the expert of your own life — believing you are creative, resourceful and whole.

Life coaching helps you:

  • Discover, clarify and align with what you want to achieve
  • Explore options and alternatives that work best for you
  • Create self-generated action plans and strategies
  • Stay responsible and accountable to your goals
  • Gain direction, structure, hope and positivity

Who works with a Life Coach?

Entrepreneurs, executives, business leaders, managers, professionals, parents and home-makers — anyone who wants to close the gap between where they are now and where they want to be. Your life coach will help you work through limiting beliefs, challenge you to think bigger and create a specific plan of action.

What can be discussed with a Life Coach?

  • Managing career transitions
  • Starting or growing a business
  • Work-life balance
  • Making an important decision or life change
  • Overcoming time management or organisational challenges
  • Setting and achieving realistic goals
  • Overcoming a feeling of being stuck or lacking confidence
  • Identifying core values and passions
  • Building deeper relationships
  • Creating financial security and independence

How does Life Coaching differ from Counselling?

Counselling provides a safe space to discuss thoughts, feelings, behaviours and experiences from the past, present and future. Life coaching focuses on goals, behaviours and beliefs in the present and future — it does not dwell on the past. Life coaching is action-oriented and forward-focused. If deeper healing or exploration is needed, your life coach may refer you to a counsellor.

What does the process look like?

Each session is one hour. Sessions are typically spaced weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on your goals. Most coaches work with clients for 4 to 6 months. The process begins by clarifying your outcomes and goals, explores your current reality and internal blocks, and works towards creating and implementing an action plan.

Benefits of working with a Life Coach

  • Accountability: Your coach keeps you focused and on track towards your goals.
  • A safe space to explore: Coaches are trained in listening, empathy and questioning — creating a non-judgemental environment to think freely.
  • A sounding board: Your coach helps you gain clarity on what you truly want.
  • Evidence-based growth: Research shows that working with a life coach significantly increases the probability of achieving your goals.
